Someone start a Rally! - Tell the Carriers...We're not gonna take it!

I'm tired of waiting for the future, allways have been. I've been one of those guys chanting HELL YA everytime someone brings up that "where is my JET PACK" conversation. Technology is amazing and yet I want more more more. However what i dont care for at all is wireless carriers telling me about how soon the future will be here and describing ubiquitous internet access anywhere in the world in their palm of my hand. Reality here in the US of A is nowhere near this, and I'm tired of lagging behind Japan and Europe in terms of wireless technology. According to Skype's government affairs director, Christopher Libertelli, the future of the mobile internet is pretty much closed, not Open as we would believe. Not only that, but according to Ryan Singel who Interviewd Libertelli for this interview in wired magazine: "Consumers and regulators would not stand for a DSL provider refusing to let a customer use an Apple laptop or stopping them from visiting YouTube or using low-cost calling services like Rebtel or Gizmo Project. But expectations aren't the same when it comes to mobile phones, in part because the carriers have almost always been in control of the devices, bundling them with service plans. As a result, carriers have the motive and opportunity to add only the apps they like and hobble features they can't control, such as WiFi chips. Someone start a rally, I'm tired of carriers running the show and keeping us users from using devices not sold by them or banning apps from my phone. I'm ready to make some signs and get my March on!
