The ROI of Social media is zero

ok, so maybe it isn’t zero, but this article by Augustine Fou is a great synopsis of the current struggle advertisiers are having w/ applying a traditional measurement and evaluation model toward looking at social media. So What's the ROI of Marketing in Social Realms?
  1. According to Fou, it's higher than traditional advertising because:
  2. Some social actions drive new revenues at no cost to the advertiser.
  3. No media costs are required to blast the ad out at people who don't want it in the first place.
  4. Social actions archived online provide lasting and ongoing value to future seekers of information at no extra cost to advertisers.
  5. There's a potential for amplification while traditional ads are over once they air.
Some good ideas to think about and apply to your current media plan...
