Web 3.0 may be all about automating data mining of web content, just like blogs automated publishing of web pages. Eventually the web will make everything online open, were moving in that direction and while we are moving slowly the rate of new technologies being built on open platforms is increasing. This could mean that soon closed platforms like facebook will move toward more and more openness. That could be as easy as allowing people to open their facebook feeds, with some sharing conditions.
Once that happens, it wont be long before some of the most popular Facebook user start sharing their data w/ social media monitoring services. Yep, at some point it just makes sense for a Radian6 or Buzzlogic or tns to pay a facebook member who's network is a mile wide and 1/2 mile deep to open their feed.
I say bring it on, set technology free and if you don't like it, then get out of the way.
