Most web analytsts think about measurement all day long, but due to time constraits of being swamped w/ reporting they tend to forget to include social media and PR in the measurement schema. These are going to be two major components of all digital customer acquisition strategies for your clients/boss in 2009. So start with the basics, and measured both traffic and conversions using any number of new free tools like techrigy, google trends, quantcast, not to mention whatever basic web analytics package you are using. start thinking about measureing everything you can in these 4 quadrants. controlled onsite behaviors and actions, controlled offsite behaviors and actions, uncontrolled onsite behaviors and actions, uncontrolled offsite behaviors, actions and conversations.
