In its attempt to avoid civilian casualties, Israel claims to have sent out thousands of cell-phone messages to Gaza, urging residents to leave homes where weapons may be stored.
Despite this, 350 are dead to date and Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak says there is no end in site.
