Amazon F's up! - LGBT books, censored on it's website

Amazon, shame on you, you are better than this. Last night after spending the day w/ my family I got on twitter to see what was trending and heard about this post from gizmodo. Gizmodo Stas from Quantcast From gizmodo: "Hey look! Amazon has a new book sales policy. The policy, instated today, spontaneously transformed many books about LGBT issues into "adult" titles, and therefore no longer includes them in the "Best Sellers" lists/rankings." Ok, so I can understand a glitch and how sometimes disparate teams in a large ecommerce company dont talk to each other well, I'll give you that. However, as a pioneer on consumer media you have to be better at handeling crisis especially when it affects the liberty of your customer base. As of this morning this gizmodo post had 154 comments, by 105 unique commenters. Gizmodo's reach is huge, 3.6 million US and 6million worldwide and the influencer list that follows this blog extends that reach to nearning every corner of the tech web. Amazon you may have just alienated a huge portion of your user base. Just last night my wife and I were talking about some books we wanted to buy and how it's going to be a pain in the ass not to be able to buy w/ 1 click anymore. We decided to start shopping more at half-price books since we go there anyway and powels online as we like that store in portland...See, that's how fast things happen. After one post on gizmodo you lost us. the decision was made in 10 minutes simply by me reading a blog post. You will have to do a lot of heavy lifting to get us back, ball is in your court.
